Recently, the team from Cookiddoo appeared on CTV Ottawa. We didn’t just come to talk about our cooking classes for kids—we demonstrated them in action. Together with the hosts, we made fresh homemade pasta from scratch, shared tips on working with dough, and explained why cooking means so much more to us than just preparing food.
More Than Just a Recipe
When children come to Cookiddoo, they learn more than just how to mix ingredients or use kitchen tools. Every workshop is a small step toward independence.
During the interview, we talked about how our main goal is to help children believe in themselves. When they knead the dough with their own hands, roll it out, cut the pasta, and see the finished dish, they feel: “I did it!” It is precisely these moments that lay the foundation for confidence that will serve them well far beyond the kitchen.
Why We Teach Cooking
The modern kitchen is a great place to develop life skills.
While cooking, children learn to:
- make decisions on their own;
- to follow instructions and the sequence of steps;
- to work as part of a team;
- to focus on the task at hand;
- to be patient and careful;
- not to be afraid to try new things and to learn from their own experiences.
Of course, the result is a delicious dish. But for us, what matters much more are the emotions of the child who proudly tells their parents: “I made this myself!”
Homemade pasta—a perfect example of learning by doing
For our TV broadcast, we chose to make fresh pasta. This is one of our young chefs’ favorite workshops.
At first glance, it seems like making pasta is difficult. But step by step, the children realize that if they follow the process carefully, they’re sure to succeed. This is exactly how self-confidence is built—through real actions and real results.
Every new skill becomes a small victory.
Thank you to CTV Ottawa for the invitation
It was a great honor for our team to introduce Cookiddoo to CTV Ottawa viewers and explain why children’s cooking workshops help raise independent, confident, and curious children.
We’re grateful to the entire production team for the warm atmosphere, the interesting conversation, and the opportunity to show that behind each of our classes lies not only recipes, but also a love for children, a desire to inspire them, and a commitment to helping them reach their full potential.
Join Cookiddoo
If you’re looking for a place where your child can not only have a fun time but also gain valuable skills that will last a lifetime, we’d love to see you at Cookiddoo.
In our cooking workshops, children cook on their own under the guidance of professional chefs, learn how to work safely in the kitchen, discover new flavors, make friends, and become a little more confident with each class.
And the delicious dishes are a nice bonus to the knowledge and memories that will stay with them for a long time.
